General Description

Our work is a combination of individual contributions, collaborative teamwork, and inspired spiritual insight. Because we are a small staff, there is need for both breadth of knowledge and specialization based on the strengths of the individual team members. All staff members take calls and participate in processing grant cases. All staff contribute to the administrative and housekeeping tasks associated with a small office.

Successful candidates will embrace collaboration while also demonstrating initiative. They will possess a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and service orientation. They will embrace change and be eager to take on new challenges. They will continuously grow in their metaphysical approach to all aspects of the work.

Communications Manager

Job Type: Full-Time   Location: Kansas City   Salary Range: TBD   Start Date: Immediate

Primary Responsibilities

  • An experienced candidate will be responsible for the overall communications strategy for The Principle Foundation and its programs, including design and content for:
    • Print media
    • Mass mail and email messaging
    • Website content
    • Social media
    • Group presentations (public speaking)
  • In addition to excellent writing skills, the ideal candidate will also contribute two or more of the following:
    • A strong sense of layout and design for both print and electronic content
    • Computer graphics
    • Infographics
    • Email marketing technical expertise
    • Video production
    • Presentation skills
    • Facilitation skills

Qualifications

  • Membership in The Mother Church required.
  • Branch church membership expected.
  • Class instruction in Christian Science preferred.
  • Ten years professional work experience.

Basic Requirements

  • Sincere practice of Christian Science with desire to help others.
  • Radical reliance on Christian Science both within and outside of the office.
  • Discretion, integrity, and morality both within and outside of the office.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outstanding written communication – mechanics, tone, clarity, organization.
  • Strong computer skills – word processing, spreadsheets, database (data entry and reports).
  • Organizational skills – organizing and prioritizing disparate data.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellence orientation – high standards of performance, follow-through, attention to detail.

Webmaster

Primary Responsibilities

  • An experienced candidate will have overall ownership of The Principle Foundation’s four existing websites as well as future websites and apps. Specific activities include:
    • Defining system requirements – a comprehensive plan for maintaining all of TPF’s websites and apps
    • Providing website expertise on emerging website/app projects
    • Leading design team on new website/app projects
    • Maintaining websites, including training and monitoring content providers
  • In addition to excellent web design, development, and management skills, the ideal candidate will also contribute two or more of the following:
    • Integration expertise
    • Website database expertise
    • A strong sense of layout and design
    • Computer graphics
    • Infographics
    • Email marketing technical expertise
    • Video production
    • Hardware, software, and/or networking penchant

  • Customer service – conscientious front-end analysis; responding with grace directly to users.
  • Excellence orientation – high standards of performance, follow-through, attention to detail, etc.; systematic pre-release testing.
